Boost for Oregon City Main Street promotion
Jessica Gago, with recent experience in producing the San Diego Bay Wine and Food Festival, this month joined the staff of the Main Street Oregon City nonprofit organization as promotions and marketing coordinator.
Moving to Oregon she will apply her publicity and event hosting skills to help with events that are scheduled to use Main Street in downtown Oregon City as a showplace. She has a bachelor's degree in telecommunications from Indiana University in Bloomington, plus an events management certificate from the University of San Diego.
"She is not only very familiar with events and PR, but will be able to work with downtown business to increase the overall marketing savvy of the district," said Main Street Oregon City Inc. Executive Director Jonathan Stone. "Additionally, her experience working with restaurants will provide needed focus to how we sustain and grow our restaurant cluster."
Gago was in town for the First City Celebration and assumed her position officially in time for last weekend's Antique Fair. Next up on Main Street in Oregon City is the fifth annual Cruise to Downtown Oregon City car show. Scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, this free display of more than 250 cars, trucks and motorcycles is arranged by nonprofit Trick n Racy Cars Club.
Restaurant and food concessions are available for viewers planning a full day at the show. Vehicles are registered in advance for display by type. There is judging, and plaques will be presented.
