by: CONTRIBUTED PHOTO: CLACKAMAS COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE - This motorhome was reported intentionally crashed into a tavern/restaurant in Boring at 2 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24.At taverns' closing time Saturday morning a motorhome crashed into a bar in downtown Boring near the intersection of Richey Road and Highway 212.

Emergency personnel were called at 2 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, to the Timber Pub and Grub, 28052 Highway 212, where the crash occurred.

When they arrived at the tavern, Boring firefighters and paramedics found a motorhome that had crashed into the front of the tavern, which had just closed. For that reason, there were very few people left in the establishment.

Boring fire personnel as well as Sandy police officers responded to help secure the scene. When Clackamas County Sheriff’s deputies arrived, they found the driver, Larry Dale Karasch, 48, Clackamas, walking around the area. He had some self-inflicted wounds on his arms, but otherwise was not injured as a result of the crash.

The deputies’ initial investigation revealed that the driver had intentionally caused the crash, but no one was injured as a result of the incident.

Karasch was cited for driving without liability insurance and transported to an area hospital, where his self-inflicted wounds were treated and his mental health was evaluated.
